This flower may not look like much, but it symbolises something quite important, to me anyway. I've developed this flower from a rough pencil sketch to a pen sketch to this watercoloured version. The key word here is developed. In other words, I stuck at it and kept going, even when it wasn't going well!
I used a pale grey pen to sketch the flower and then regular watercolours to paint it. I like the way the green of the stem bled into the flower, and the way the green totally covered the grey.
I'm determined that by this time next week I'll be able to post the next stage. Oh yes, there's a next stage. Hopefully one that will make it look a little more intriguing!
